Wartime History
This gun was transported to New Guinea. During 1943, this gun was one of five emplaced in a revetment constructed from coral rubble as part of a battery on the peninsula overlooking Sek Harbor near Alexishafen Catholic Mission at Alexishafen. This gun was part of anti-aircraft defense for the Alexishafen area.

On December 28, 1943 this gun battery was photographed before and after a bombing raid by B-24 Liberators. On April 26, 1944 the Australian Army liberated this area including these guns.

Wreckage
This gun remains in situ. The barrel is removed and on the ground in front of the base.
