Gun History
Delivered to the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) as 76.2mm Anti-Aircraft Gun / Type 3 (1914) 8cm High Angle Gun serial number unknown. Shipped to Salamaua in New Guinea.
Wartime History
This gun was emplaced on a hilltop at Salamaua.
Wreckage
Remained in situ until 1969 when recovered by the Japanese. During 1971, donated to Yasukuni Jinja and displayed at the Yūshūkan (Yasukuni Museum) in the Great Exhibition Hall.
