    Seto Inland Sea (Inland Sea)  Japan
Location
The Seto Inland Sea or Inland Sea is located in southern Japan between the Pacific Ocean to the east and the Sea of Japan to the west. In Japanese known as 瀬戸内海, Seto Naikai or Setouchi. Borders Honshū to the north, Kyushu to the southwest and Shikoku to the south and Awaji Island to the east. At the southern end is are the Hoyo Strait connecting to the Bungo Strait and Kanmon Strait. At the northern end is are Akashi Strait and Naruto Strait.

Wartime History
During January 18, 1942 and January 19, 1942 gunnery trials by Mutsu and Yamato are conducted in the Inland Sea.
