Location
Dinagat Island is located in the Dinagat Islands of Dinagat Islands Province in the Caraga Administrative Region / Caraga Region (Region XIII) in the central Philippines. Borders Leyte Gulf to the north, Surigao Strait to the west and beyond Leyte and the Dinagat Sound to the east.
Wartime History
On October 17, 1944 the U.S. Army 6th Ranger Battalion landed at the northern tip of Dinagat Island.
