Location Lat 18° 3' 42N Long 120° 31' 20E Paoay is located at an elevation of 85' / 25m above sea level in Ilocos Norte Province in the Ilocos Region (Region I) of northwest of Luzon in the Philippines. Church of San Agustin (Church of Paoay) Built between 1704–1793 as the Church of San Agustin. Also known as the Church of Paoay. During the Philippine revolution, the tower was used as an observation post by Katipuneros and later during the Japanese occupation by guerrillas. Aircraft Wreck Reportedly, a plane crashed in the sea in the vicinity of Paoay. Lucy Guillermo adds: "A plane wreck, possibly a P-38 somewhere in the area of Paoay. Two fishermen I talked with attest that strewn metals are embedded on the corals and sand. He would always see the wreckage when they go fishing in the corals about 50-60' deep." Contribute
