    Puerto Princesa Palawan Province Philippines
Location
Lat 9° 44' 21N Long 118° 44' 7E  Puerto Princesa is located at an elevation of 26' / 7m roughly in the center of the east coast of Palawan Island in Palawan Province in the Philippines. Borders Puerto Princesa Bay.

Wartime History
Occupied by the Japanese. Starting in late October 1944 targeted by American bombers and later fighters. On February 28, 1945 at dawn, Attack Group Victor III including Task Group 78.2 (TG 78.2) arrives and made an amphibious landing of the U.S. Army 41st Division 186th Regimental Combat Team (186th RCT), reinforced, under command of Brig Gen Harold Haney without opposition at the beach and occupies the area. The same day, Puerto Princesa town and airfields are captured and a radar installation established.
