Location Palawan Island is located in Palawan Province in the Southwestern Tagalog Region (Mimaropa) in the Philippines. The island is 275 miles in length and is the fifth largest island in the Philippines and located farthest to the west. To the northeast approximately 364 miles away is Manila on Luzon. Borders the Sulu Sea to the east and the Palawan Passage and South China Sea to the west. To the northeast is the Calamian Island Group (Calamianes) and further to the northeast is Mindoro Island.
