| Location The Sulu Archipelago (Sulu Islands) is a chain of islands west of Mindanao and east of Borneo. During Pacific War, the southwest Sulu Islands were considered part of Borneo. Borders the northern edge of the Celebes Sea to the south and the southern edge of the Sulu Sea to the north. Includes Jolo Island, Basilan Island. Today located in the Autonomous Region In Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) in the southwest of the Philippines. Divided into three provinces: Basilana Province, Sulu Province and Tawi-Tawi Province.
