Location
Lat 5° 58' 60S Long 146° 4' 60E  Gusap is located in the Ramu Valley at the base of the Finisterre Range in New Guinea. Also known as "Susua" or "Goosap". Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Territory of New Guinea. Today located in Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Wartime History
On September 29, 1943 the Australian Army occupied the Gusap area.

Built by US Army engineers, developed into major base for fighters and light bombers.
