Location
The Ramu Valley includes the Ramu River in the interior of northern New Guinea. Also known as the Ramu River Valley. Borders the Markham Valley to the southeast. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Territory of New Guinea. Today, the Ramu Valley spans from Morobe
Province to Madang Province in Papua
New Guinea (PNG). Ramu Valley locations include Braman, Dumpu (Tumpu), Musak and Gusap.
Wartime History
During March 1942 occupied by the Japanese Army. By October 1943, the the Japanese had withdrawn as the Australian Army advanced into the Ramu Valley.
