Location
The Markham Valley includes the Markham River in the interior of New Guinea. Also known as the Markham River Valley. Located between the Finisterre Range to the north, Ramu Valley to the northwest and the Highlands to the south. In 1873 named by British Captain John Moresby of after Sir Clements Markham, Secretary of the British Royal Geographical Society. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Morobe District, Territory of New Guinea. Today, located in Morobe
