Location The Markham River spans roughly 110 miles / 180 kilometers in New Guinea. The Markham River originates in the Finisterre Range and flows to the southeast into the Markham Valley (Markham River Valley) to the south of Nadzab and west of Lae before emptying into the western end of Huon Gulf.
