Location
The Ramu River is a large river in the Ramu Valley in northern New Guinea. The headwaters of the river originate in the interior Highlands with the mouth located on the north coast of New Guinea. Today spans both Morobe Province and Madang Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
The mouth of the Ramu River empties at the north coast of New Guinea, to the northwest is the mouth of the Sepik River and to the southeast is Hansa Bay. The river meanders southward to Annanberg into the Ramu Valley.
