Location Lat 7° 1' 8" S Long 147° 3' 43" E Laupui Point is located on the north coast of New Guinea inside Huon Gulf. Inland to the southwest is Scout Ridge (Roosevelt Ridge) and beyond Mount Tambu (Mt. Tambu). To the northwest borders Bayern Bay and on the mainland Logui, Nuk Nuk and Salamaua Airfield (Logui Strip No 2) and beyond Salamaua. The Japanese referred to this location as "Cape Ragui", likely a phonetic spelling or misspelling of Laupui. Prewar and during the Pacific War located in the Morobe District in Territory of New Guinea. Today located Salamaua Rural LLG, Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
