Location Lat 9° 15' 25S Long 147° 36' 58E Nauro village is located on the the Kokoda Trail in the Owen Stanley Range in New Guinea. Located between Menari to the south and Efogi to the north. Wartime History The Australian Army, 21st Brigade fought a defensive battle at Nauro then withdrew southward to Efogi. During September 1942, targeted by U.S. bombers and fighters. Allied missions against Nauro September 16, 1942–October 31, 1942 September 16, 1942 (5th AF) A single A-20 bombs and strafes positions at Nauro. September 22, 1942 (5th AF) A-20s bomb and strafe occupied areas at Nauro. October 31, 1942 (5th AF) A-20s bomb and strafe Nauro and the area to north.
