Location Lat 6° 55' 0S Long 155° 52' 60E Alu Island is located in the Shortland Island Group (Shortland Islands) in Western Province in the Solomon Islands. Postwar, renamed Pirumeri Island. Pirumeri Point is located at the northern tip of the island. Cape Stevens (Ainitu Point) is located at the southern tip. Fringed by coral reefs aside from the Pirumeri Channel bordering the northwest side of the island. The island's highest elevation is 150'. To the northwest is Poporang Island to the north is Orlofi Island, Onua Island and Shortland Harbor. Borders the Solomon Sea to the south and east. Prewar, known as Alu Island. Prewar A copra plantation was established at the edge of Alu Island. Along the western tip was a coconut palm plantation harvesting copra owned by Mrs. Clara Scott. Also known as the "Mrs. Scott Plantation". Pirumeri Located near Pirumeri Point at the northern tip of Alu Island (Pirumeri).
