| Location Lat 9° 16' 60S Long 159° 46' 0E Aruliho village is located at 3' above sea level on Argulio Point (Argulio Point) on the north coast of Guadalcanal near Cape Esperance. Wartime spelling "Argulio". Also spelled Aruligo. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate (BSIP). Today located in Guadalcanal Province in the Solomon Islands. Wartime History During the Guadalcanal campaign occupied by the Japanese. On November 14, 1942 a Japanese reinforcement convoy of eleven transports escorted by eleven destroyers were to land reinforcements and supplies on Guadalcanal. The No. 2 Butai of six ships including Yamaura Maru, Arizona Maru, Brisbane Maru, Kinugawa Maru, Shinanogawa Maru and Yamatsuki Maru were scheduled to unload at Argulio Point. Spotted by U.S. planes, six transports were sunk. On November 15, 1942 around 4:00am the four remaining transports Kinugawa Maru, Hirokawa Maru, Yamaura Maru, and Yamatsuki Maru begin unloaded at Bunani Point , Tenaro and Bonegi and are all damaged by air attacks and beached or sunk.
