Location
Guadalcanal Province is comprised of Guadalcanal in the southeastern Solomon Islands. In July 1983 the capital city of Honiara was designted the Capital Territory surrounded by Guadalcanal Province. To the north borders Iron Bottom Sound and beyond Central Province. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate (BSIP). Today part of the Solomon Islands.
