Location
The Santa Cruz Island Group (Santa Cruz Islands) are located in Temotu Province in the southeastern Solomon Islands. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate (BSIP). Today, part of the Solomon Islands.
Wartime History
On October 25, 1942 to October 26, 1942 off the Santa Cruz Island Group (Santa Cruz Islands) was the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands (Battle of the South Pacific), the fourth carrier battle in the Pacific War. Both sides sustained damaged and withdrew.
