Wartime History
During the Battle
of the Coral Sea, between May 6, 1942 until May 10, 1942 the Louisiade Archipelago was at the center of the action,
located between the Allied
and Japanese forces. Deboyne Island Group was used by Japanese seaplanes and several aircraft ditched in the area.
