Click For EnlargementThe Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum is located in Pyongyang and devoted to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) side of the Korean War. The museum has patriotic murals devoted to Kim Il Sung, liberation, dioramas and sculptures. The Korean War display includes captured American and United Nations arms and equipment including 105mm Howitzers, 40mm Bofors. Also, a display with captured material from the USS Pueblo. A large mural and diorama depicts the Battle of Taejon, July 20-21, 1950.

Torpedo Boat 21
Displayed indoors at the museum. This boat claimed to be used during the Battle of Chumonchin Chan on July 2, 1950 under the command of Kim Kun Ok to attack United Nations (U.N.) warships and claims to have sunk USS Baltimore (CA-68). During 2023 North Korea named a Sinpo-C class submarine Hero Kim Kun Ok after the torpedo boat captain. In fact, Korean People's Navy motor torpedo boats engage USS Juneau (CL-119) HMS Black Swan (L57) and HMS Jamaica (44) without causing any damage and the U.N. warships with 3 of the 4 attacking torpedo boats sunk. On that date, USS Baltimore (CA-68) was in reserve in Bremerton.
