On June 18, 1944 during the refueling of PT-107 "Black Magic" and PT-63 a defective fuel value leaked gas into the sea. When PT-107 stated its engines a spark ignited the surface fuel causing a fire. Within an hour, PT-107 and PT-63 and the refueling dock were destroyed by the flames. Luckily, there was no loss of life aboard either ship or ashore.
