Background
On January 28, 1942 constituted as the 382nd Bombardment Squadron (Light). On March 2, 1942 activated in the 311th Bombardment Group (311th BG) at Will Rogers Field. On July 4, 1942 moves to Hunter Field. On July 27, 1942 redesignated 382nd Bombardment Squadron (Dive). On October 1942 moves to Waycross, Georgia. On July 18, 1943 begins a movement overseas to China Burma India (CBI).

Wartime History
On September 14, 1943 arrives Nawadih Airfield in India.

On September 30, 1943 redesignated 528th Fighter-Bomber Squadron (528th FBS).

On October 11, 1943 moves to Dinjan Airfield in India.

On May 14, 1944 moves to Tingkawk Sakan Airfield in Burma.

On May 30, 1944 redesignated 528th Fighter Squadron (528th FS).

On August 24, 1944 moves to Shwangliu Airfield.

On August 23, 1944 moves to Pungchacheng Airfield in China.

On September 1, 1944 the squadron sends a detachments to operate from Hanchung Airfield (Nancheng) and Liansshan Airfield. On January 1, 1945 both detachments return to Pungchacheng Airfield.

On February 15, 1945 the squadron sends a detachment to Hsian Airfield in China.

On August 1, 1945 moves to Hsian Airfield in China.

On October 22, 1945 moves to Shanghai in China. On December 14, 1945 begins a movement back to the United States.

On January 4, 1946 arrives Fort Lawton in Washington State. On January 6, 1946 inactivated.

Postwar
On May 24, 1946 redesignated as the 132nd Fighter Squadron (132nd FS) and allotted to the Air National Guard (ANG).
