Aircraft History Built by Martin in Baltimore, Maryland. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) as B-26 Marauder serial number 40-1407. Wartime History During March 1942 assigned to the 22nd Bombardment Group (22nd BG), 33rd Bombardment Squadron (33rd BS). Flown overseas by 1st Lt. William F. Coleman via Hickam Field then across the Pacific to Amberley Field arriving March 30, 1942. Nicknamed "Our Gal" with the nose art of a woman wearing a skirt and hat with one arm extended behind her and the other bent at the side of her head. Assigned to pilot Lt. John H Disbro. Also flown by Roberts and Coleman. Crew chief Marshall and later Julian. On April 9, 1942 flew its first combat mission. On November 16, 1942 last combat mission with the squadron against the Buna-Gona-Sanananda area. This bomber flew at least 18 combat missions with the 33rd Bombardment Squadron (33rd BS). During June 1943, transferred to the 19th Bombardment Squadron (19th BS) with crew chief Robinson. On July 29, 1943 first combat mission with the squadron. On October 27, 1943 last mission and flew a total of 13 with the 19th Bombardment Squadron (33rd BS). Stripped to bare aluminum finish as part of the "Silver Fleet". In total, this B-26 flew 50 combat missions. During January 1944 flown to Brisbane and scrapped. References NARA World War II Army Enlistment Records - John H.
