Location La Carlota Airfield was located at an elevation of 272' above sea level near La Carlota in Negros Occidental Province inland from the west coast of Negros in the Western Visayas Region (Region VI) of the Philippines. Located to the southeast of La Carlota Sugar Central. Construction Prewar, a private airfield was cut into the sugar cane field with an estimated length of 3,000'. During 1944, built by the Japanese during their occupation of the Philippines. There were three runways that formed La Carlota Airfield. The first runway was one a mile west of La Carlota oriented east-northeast to west-southwest measuring 4,600' x 250' known as "old field". The second runway was one mile southeast of La Carlota measured 1,800' x 450'. Wartime History Used by the Japanese Army Air Force (JAAF) with a training unit based here. The Americans believed the La Carlota Airfield was in use, but was a dispersal field to accommodate its operational training units (Kyoiku Hikotais). Japanese units based at La Carlota Airfield 17th Hiko Sentai (Ki-61) arrives October 1944–December 1944 19th Hiko Sentai (Ki-61) arrives October 1944–December 1944 32nd Kyoiku Hikotai (Ki-43-II, Ki-27) arrives June 1944–August 1944 Starting in the middle of November 1944 targeted by American bombers and fighters until the middle of January 1945. American missions against La Carlota November 15, 1944–January 19, 1945 Today Disused since the Pacific War as a airfield and replanted with sugarcane.
