Location Moisuru Bay is located off Moisuru and the Moisuru River on the southern coast of Bougainville Island in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (Bougainville Province) in Papua New Guinea (PNG). To the west is Erventa Harbor (Buin Harbor). During World War II, the Japanese Army referred to this location as "Buin Harbor". Offshore to the south is Erventa Island and Popotala Island. Wartime History Between 1942–1944 used as a Japanese anchorage. The coastal area was used by the Japanese Army 17th Army headquarters. During late 1943-1944 targeted by American bombers and fighters.
