Location Lat 6°48'20"S Long 155°49'59"E Popotala Island is a small island located off the southern coast of Bougainville in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville (Bougainville Province) in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Also known as Popotala Islet or simply Popotala. To the northwest is Erventa Island. To the east is East Point and the mouth of Tonolei Harbor. To the north borders Erventa Harbor (Buin Harbor) and beyond the southern coast of Bougainville.To the south is the international border between Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
