Location Bongao Island is located in Tawi-Tawi Province in the southwest Sulu Archipelago in the Autonomous Region In Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) of the Philippines. To the north is Bongao Channel and beyond Sanga-Sanga Island. To the northeast is Tawi-Tawi Island. At the southwest is Mount Pajar (Bongao Peak) a feature that is visible in the entire area. Wartime History Starting in late March 1945 until early April 1945 targeted by U.S. bombers and fighters. American missions against Bongao March 30, 1945–April 2, 1945 Bongao Lat 5° 1' 45N Long 119° 46' 23E Bongao is located at the eastern end of Bongao Island.
