Location Lat 10° 58' 32N Long 124° 53' 34E Burauen, officially the Municipality of Burauen is located at an elevation of 216' / 65m inland from the eastern coast of Leyte in Leyte Province in the Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) in the Visayas (Visayas Islands) in the central Philippines. Also spelled Burouen. Borders the Marabang River to the south. To the east is Bayug Airfield and beyond San Pablo Airdrome. To the northeast is Buri Airfield (Buro). A road northward connects to Dagami. Burauen Municipal Building Built prewar, this building was occupied by the Japanese Army. Displayed outside on a concrete pedestal is 75mm Field Gun Type 38 (1905) serial number 127. Japanese War Memorial Cemetery The Japanese War Memorial Cemetery is located in Burauen in Bgy. San Diego. This cemetery is frequently visited by Japanese relatives and tour groups. Bayug Airfield (Burauen, Burouen) Japanese built, liberated by Americans during late October 1944 and repairs began but were abandoned. Contribute
