| Location Eastern Samar Province spans the eastern portion of Samar Island in the Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) in the Visayas (Visayas Islands) in the central Philippines. Also known as Western Samar Province. Borders Samar Province (Western Samar Province) to the west and Northern Samar Province to the north. To the south is Leyte Gulf and beyond to the west is Leyte Island. Balangiga Located on the south coast of Samar.
