Location Lat 10° 53' 32N Long 123° 21' 17E Fabrica is located in Negros Occidental Province on Negros Island in the Western Visayas (Region VI) in the Visayas (Visayas Islands) in the central Philippines. Borders the Himogaan River to the west. Today Barangay Fabrica is part of Sagay (Sagay City). Prewar Two industries were established at Fabrica. Lopez Sugar was established in 1927 as a sugarcane refinery and Insular Lumber as a lumberyard for mahogany floated on Himogaan River to this location for processing. To support both companies, a Fabrica Airfield was built on flat ground to the east. Wartime History During the Japanese occupation of the Philippines, the Japanese expanded prewar Fabrica Airfield for military use. and occpuied the industrial infrastructure at Fabrica. Starting in early November 1944, targeted by American bombers and fighters until late April 1945. Afterwards, during July 1945 and early August 1945 bombers targeted a pocket of Japanese resistance south of Fabrica.
