    Kudjeru (Kudjuru) Morobe Province Papua New Guinea (PNG)
Location
Lat 7° 30' 0S Long 146° 43' 60E  Kudjeru is located at an elevation of 6,033' / 1,838m. Also known as Kudjuru. The Bulldog Track terminates at Kudjeru. To the north is Winima. Today located in Morobe Province in Papua New Guinea (PNG).

Prewar
A walking trail to the southwest connected Kudjeru to the southwest. Another walking trail connected to the north via Winima then onward onto a road that connected to Wau.

Wartime History
Kudjeru is located at the northern end of Bulldog Track. During the middle of 1942, Kudjeru was used as a staging base and camp area where cargo carried across the track was stored, sorted and distributed to Australian Army commandos operating in the area.

During early July 1942, war photographer and cinematographer Damien Parer with journalist Osmar White arrived at Kudjeru after walking the Bulldog Track then onward to Wau.

During early September 1942, "Kanga Force" withdrew from the Bulolo Valley southward via Kaisenik, Blakes Camp to Winima and Kudjeru at the start of the Bulldog Track. The Australian retreat was dubbed the "Bulldog Stakes" or "Bulldog Derby" to describe their poorly coordinated race to evacuate fearing a Japanese advance to Wau. By early September 1942, at least 80 soldiers who believed they were to proceed southward on the Bulldog Track but were ordered to hault and return.

On September 2, 1942 "Kanga Force" Headquarters was established at Kudjeru. Papuan carriers walking the Bulldog Track delivered cargo to this location. By late September 1942 units began delopying northward again. From this location, mules to move supplies northward to Wau.

During the middle of 1943 during construction of the Bulldog Road (Bulldog-Wau Road, Reinhold Highway), the Kudjeru Track was established as an alternate route from Kudjeru to Winima.
