Location Lat 8° 19' 0S Long 157° 15' 0E Munda Harbor is located on the southern coast of New Georgia in the New Georgia Island Group (New Georgia Islands) in the central Solomon Islands. Also known as Munda Bay. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate (BSIP). Today located in Western Province in the Solomon Islands. Munda Harbor is fringed by a coral reef at the northern edge off the southern coast of New Georgia and a longer reef that forms the southern edge and western edge, known as Munda Bar. The northern edge borders the southern coast of New Georgia including Munda (Munda Point), Lambeti and Laiana (Ilangana, Olsen's Landing). Inside Munda Harbor are many small islands including: Mbapaka Island, Tepariki Island, Olassana Island, Kokohale Island and Kilivarai Island and Kaimbe Island (Kiaba).
