Indicated is Rabaul bordering Simpson Harbor with enemy airfields at Lakunai Airfield, Vunakanau Airfield, Rapopo Airfield and Tobera Airfield and Kerevat Airfield bordering Open Bay. Also indicated is N. Daughter (Tovanumbatir), Mother Peak (Kambiu), S. Daughter (Turangunan) and Cape Gazelle. Arrows indicate 9th Fighter Squadron missions: October 24, 1943 route, October 29, 1943 route and November 2, 1943 route. Fatalities include: (Love 11/2) P-38G 42-12848 piloted by 1st Lt. Francis S. Love, (Johnson 11/5 [sic, 11/7]) P-38G 43-2199 pilot 2nd Lt. Stanley W. Johnson and (Haniotis 11/5) P-38F "Sooner" 42-12655 pilot 2nd Lt. George C. Haniotis.
