Located outside Ulanbaataar, this small museum is located across from a military barracks. The museum has an outdoors yard, displaying several Soviet tanks and artillery pieces, also a MIG-21 jet fighter. Inside, the museum has two galleries. The western gallery deals with Mongolian wartime history, including a display about the Battle of Nomonhan (Khalkhin Gol) and World War II battles.

Battle of Khalkhin Gol Exhibit
Small exhibit about the Battle Khalkhin Gol / Nomonhan Incident. Includes a Japanese Heavy Machine Gun, rifles and binoculars, helmet, messenger tubes captured on the battlefield, also several paintings. A nearby display includes small relics from the battlefield and a Soviet Khalkhin Gol medal.
