Aircraft History
Built by Seversky Aircraft Company in Farmingdale, NY. Delivered to the U.S. Army Air Corps (USAAC) as P-35A serial number 41-17??? (last three digits unknown). Disassembled and shipped overseas to the Philippines and reassembled sometime between December 1940 to March 1941. On June 20, 1941 became the U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF).

Wartime History
Assigned to the Far East Air Force (FEAF), 24th Pursuit Group (Interceptor), 17th Pursuit Squadron (Interceptor) based at Nichols Filed in southern Manila on Luzon in the Philippines.

Mission History
On January 2, 1942 at 6:30am took off from Lubao Airfield piloted by 2nd Lt. Oscar D. Wyatt as one of five P-35s with 2nd Lt. Bob Krantz, 2nd Lt. Earl Hulsey, 2nd Lt. Silas Wol and another unknown pilot on a flight to Bataan Airfield. While circling to land, Wyatt hit by anti-aircraft fire, likely from 803rd Aviation Engineers, Comapny C who mistook his plane as enemy and crashed at Camachile two miles to the southeast and was killed. Also hit was Krantz in the windscreen and diverted to land at Pilar Airfield and damaged his plane with a nose landing. The other two pilots also aborted the landing at Bataan and instead landed at Pilar Airfield and landed safely.
