    Emiej Sealpane Base (Imeji) Jaluit Atoll Marshall Islands
Location
Emiej Sealpane Base was located on the south in side of Emiej Island (Imeji) in Jaluit Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Also known as Jaluit Seaplane Base.

Construction
Built by the Japanese, the seaplane base had shore facilities on Emiej Island (Imeji) with a a seaplane ramp and two hangars. To the north was a torpedo storage area.

Wartime History
Emiej Sealpane Base based H8K Emily Flying boats from the 24th Air Flotilla. Also, A6M2-N Rufe floatplane fighters.

On March 3, 1942 a pair of flying boats H8K1 Emily Tail Y-71 (No. 1) pilot Lt. Hisao Hashizume and H8K1 Emily (No. 2) pilot Ensign Shosuke Sasao took off Emiej Sealpane Base for Operation K on a night reconnaissance and bombing mission over Pearl Harbor on Oahu. On March 4, 1942 and due to clouds and blackout conditions are unable to find the target and bomb at 2:10am and 2:30am and both return safely.

Today
Abandoned since the war, behind the ramps are the remains of two hangars and the hulk of an Emily. To the north of the ramps is the wreckage of several A6M2-N Rufes and a torpedo storage area.
