RAN: Launched is Bathurst class corvette HMAS Pirie (J189) from Broken Hill Propriety Shipyard at Whyalla.
IJN: Desron 6 including Yayoi arrives at Kwajalein. Nissan Kisen K. K. passenger and cargo vessel Hitati Maru is converted for use as an ammunition vessel by Mitsubishi Jukogyo K. K. (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) at Kobe.
USN: During anti-aircraft gunnery practice, USS Bagley (DD-386) the starboard bilge keel tore loose and needs repairs at Pearl Harbor.
Yacht Isabel (PY-10) sails for the coast of French Indochina, deployed in accordance with U.S. President Roosevelt "defensive information patrol" order.
On December 4, 1941 in the morning, the twelve F4F-3 Wildcats from Marine Fighting Squadron 211 (VMF-211) were flown off USS Enterprise (CV-6) roughly 200 miles off northeast of Wake Atoll and land at Wake Island Airfield with assistance from SBDs from VB-6 and a PBY Catalina from Peale Island Seaplane Base at Wake Atoll.
USS Argonaut (SS-166) arrives off Midway Island on simulated war patrol.
