THURSDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER 1942

ALASKA (11th Air Force): During the morning, weather, photo reconnaissance, and patrol missions are flown over Nazan Bay off Atka. Weather, photo reconnaissance, and patrol missions are flown during the morning over Nazan Bay, Tanaga, Adak and Amchitka with poor weather is encountered over Kiska, Attu, and Agattu; a detachment of the 42d Fighter Squadron, 54th Fighter Group arrives at Adak with P-39s.

SOUTHWEST PACIFIC AREA (SWPA, 5th Air Force): Destroyed is A-24 Dive Bomber 41-15771 parked at 3 Mile Drome (Kila).

IJN: Eleven G4M1 Bettys from the Misawa Kokutai and ? Kokutai took off on a bombing mission against Guadalcanal. Over the target, intercepted by F4F Wildcats from Marine Fighting Squadron 223 (VMF-223). Shot down is F4F Wildcat ????. Force landed is G4M1 Betty 1365 Tail H-352 (crew POW).
