Location Ceram Island is the largest island in the Lease Islands in the Moluccas Island Group (Moluccas Islands). Today spelled "Seram". Also spelled "Seran" or "Serang". Borders Waroe Bay to the east, the Ceram Sea is to the north, Banda Sea to the south and further to the east is Western New Guinea (West Papua). Offshore to the south is Ambon Island and to the southeast are Haroekoe Island (Harakoe) and Pelauw Island. Prewar and during the Pacific War, located in the Netherlands East Indies (NEI). Today located in Maluku Province (Moluccas) in Indonesia. Piroe (Piru) Located on western Ceram bordering Piroe Bay. Boela (Bula) Located on the northeastern coast of Seram (Ceram) with the Boela Oil Fields. Kairatoe (Kairatu) Located on the southwestern end of Seram Island (Ceram).
