Location The Mimaropa Region is located in the southwest Philippines. Mimaropa is an acronym combination of its constituent islands: Mindoro (divided into Occidental Mindoro Province and Oriental Mindoro Province), Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan. Also spelled MiMaRoPa with the first letter of each island capitalized or MIMAROPA in all capitals. Previously, known as Southwestern Tagalog Region or Region IV-B until 2016. The Mimaropa Region is one of two regions in the Philippines that has no land border with another region. Mimaropa Region (Southwestern Tagalog Region, Region IV-B) Provinces Cotabato independent component city of Cotabato on the west coast inside Maguindanao Province. Marinduque Province includes Marinduque and offshore islands. Occidental Mindoro Province western half of Mindoro Island and offshore islands. Oriental Mindoro Province eastern half of Mindoro Island. Palawan Province includes Palawan Island and the provincial capital Puerto Princesa.
