Location
The Samar Sea is located between the Bicol Region of Luzon and the Eastern Visayas (Region VIII) in the Visayas (Visayas Islands) in the central Philippines. Borders Samar to the east, Leyte to the south, Masbate to the west and Luzon to the north. Connects to the Philippine Sea to the north via San Bernardino Strait. Connects to Leyte Gulf and San Pedro Bay to the southeast via Carigara Bay and the San Juanico Strait. Connects to the Visayan Sea to the southwest and Sibuyan Sea to the northwest via Masbate Pass and Ticao Pass. The Samar Sea includes Biliran Island, Almagro Island, Maripipi Island, Sto. Nino Island, Daram Island and Tagapul-an Island.
