Location Blanche Harbor is a deep water harbor between Mono Island to the north and Stirling Island to the south in the Treasury Island Group (Treasury Islands). Also know as Blanche Bay. Prewar and during the Pacific War part of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate (BSIP). Today located in Western Province in the Solomon Islands. Wartime History On October 27, 1943 at dawn, U.S. Navy (USN) Task Force 31 (TF-31) bombarded the area, prior to the amphibious landing at Falamai by the New Zealand Army and U.S. Navy 87th Naval Construction Battalion (87th NCB) "Seabees". Afterward, Blanche Harbor was used by Allied warships and transports for the remainder of 1943 and 1944 as a base area.
