Ship History
Built by Toyo Kisen Kaisha in January 1942.

Wartime History
Set off from Rabaul as part of a convoy to New Guinea. On board were 252 personnel, fuel, provisions, ammunition and landing craft. Also on board was Lt. Simizu, 8 Shipping Engineer Regiment.

Sinking History
Sunk by aircraft during the Battle of the Bismarck Sea, on March 3, 1943 approximately 30 miles south-east of Fischafen.
