Background
On January 28, 1944 arrived at Cape Sudest on the north coast of New Guinea. On February 4, 1944 moved from Cape Sudest to Dobodura.

On March 12, 1944 lost is A-20G "A Touch of Texas" 43-9623 pilot 2nd Lt. McCoy E. Palmer on a practice bombing mission against the Ayatosan Maru  (The Gona Wreck) and ditched with all three rescued.

On March 20, 1944 lost is A-20G 42-54157 pilot 2nd Lt. Raymond H. Brock took off on an administrative flight bound for Dobodura and crashed inland from Cape Ward Hunt with the pilot killed. The two passengers were later rescued and survived.

On April 10, 1944 moves to Saidor Airfield.

On April 16, 1944 "Black Sunday" the squadron flew a low level strike against Hollandia. Returning, the formation encountered a severe weather front returning to Saidor Airfield. Force landed was A-20G Havoc 43-9401 pilot 2nd Lt. Phillip Crow (survived) and A-20G "In The Mood" 43-9669 pilot 2nd Lt. Arthur Gresen (survived). Afterwards, this mission was dubbed "Black Sunday" due to the number of aircraft lost due to bad weather.

On September 10, 1944 the 672nd BS moves from Saidor Airfield to Kornasoren Airfield on Noemfoor Island.

On December 6, 1944 672nd BS move to Tacloban Airfield on Leyte. On December 22, 1944 moves to San Jose Airfield on Mindoro.

On August 17, 1945 moves to Okinawa.
