Location Nueva Vizcaya Province is located in the Cagayan Valley region in central-northern Luzon. In Spanish, means "New Vizcaya" named after Vizcaya Province in Basque Country in Spain. Borders Ifugao Province, Isabela Province, Quirino Province, Aurora Province, Nueva Ecija Province, Pangasinan Province and Benguet Province. Balete Pass (Dalton Pass) Ridge line pass through the mountains located to the west of the Cagayan Valley, just past the border of Nueva Ecija Province. Site of intense fighting during April to June 1945. Santa Fe Located on Highway 5 near Balete Pass. The Villa Verde Trail crosses from Santa Maria to Santa Fe over the mountains. Solano Town located along Highway 5. During 1945, Japanese forces retreated through Solano. Aritao Located along Route 5, fifteen miles north of Santa Fe.
